Melville highlights – Women’s Reserves go top

It’s been a tough few weeks for Melville’s northern premier league team, with three successive losses, but there have been some highlights.

Independent observers at Melville’s 1-2 away loss to East Coast Bays suggested we were unlucky not to grab a point and generally played well. Marc Evans’ early goal can be viewed on the video above.

While the loss to Forrest Hill a week earlier was a disaster, with the absence of Aaron Scott really felt, left back Ryan Taylor did manage to notch his first goal of the season, and it was a cracker. (see Forrest Hill video).

Melville host Tauranga City United at Gower Park at 2.45pm on Saturday. Melville will be looking to do the double over them after beating them 1-0 away on Anzac Day.

Melville Reserves came from 0-2 down to draw 2-2 with East Coast Bays but have now fallen behind Onehunga Sports on goal difference at the top of the table.
