Derby draw delights
Skipper Aaron Scott muscled home a late header to earn Melville a 1-1 home draw against Wanderers Sports Club in front of a bumper Gower Park crowd.
The draw was well deserved, but for a long time seemed frustratingly elusive, after Melville fell behind to a 33rd minute penalty.
The point keeps both Wanderers and Melville midtable on 4 points each, five points off the lead.
Scott capped a fine individual performance with his 90th minute far post header, from a ball chipped in from the left by Jama Boss.
It was the ultimate reward for a storming second half comeback from Melville after a patchy first half effort.
Melville Reserves beat Wanderers 4-2, with goals from Mesach Humby, Jerson Lagos Giraldo (who later played a role in the main game), Sean Leadley and Legga Legz,
Curiousity of the match was two brothers, Thomas & Nicholas Walters, both being red carded at the same time. Both copped second bookables together in 74th minute, one for delaying play and the other for dissent.
Melville are at home to West Coast Rangers on Saturday.
