COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Melville United are mindful of the current situation regarding COVID-19 and want to provide confidence that you are able to continue to enjoy our programmes and services in a safe environment.

You will all be aware of the evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and recent Ministry of Health guidelines regarding international arrivals to New Zealand. With the football season fast approaching we are receiving inquiries regarding the risks and whether or not competitions will start as scheduled. We have received advice from NZ Football regarding Covid-19 and we understand that further government announcements could be imminent. We will keep you updated through all our communication channels and encourage you to check these daily.

For any of you concerned about what the club’s plan is at this time, we can confirm that we will follow the advice, direction and procedures from the Ministry of Health, Waikato Regional Health Authority as well as WaiBOP and Auckland Football Federations.

A number of volunteers within the club are heavily impacted through a significant increase in workload at the business that they work for. This may at times impact all of our abilities to be as switched on and able to provide all of the services we deliver and to be able to communicate as effectively as normal with you all. We do ask that you are patient with all as everyone will be impacted in some way.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to a range of other illnesses such as influenza and include:
· Fever (at least 38°C)
· Coughing
· Difficulty in breathing

We must ask that any member or parent/guardian who shows symptoms do not attend any of our trainings or club programmes until fully recovered. Any persons who have returned from overseas Since 1am Monday 16/03/2020 as advised by the Ministry of Health are advised to go into self-isolation and register through the free Healthline number 0800 358-5453.
