Clean sweep for Melville Women

Melville made it three wins out of three on the opening day of their 2016 season.

Blair Cowley’s Melville Waibop premier league team made a fine start with a 4-1 home win over Waikato Unicol.

Kelsie Mackintosh, Clare Mackintosh and Erin Sims made it 3-0 at half time, and though Unicol pulled a goal back, Brig Ravera added a well-struck fourth to seal the game for The Dinsdale Office-sponsored team in the second half.

Player of the day for Melville was defender Emily McGuinness

Melville Bs notched a 4-2 away win over Matamata with Hannah Simcock starring with a hat trick and Kayla Cassells adding the other.

And Melville Classics enjoyed a 5-1 win at home to Ngaruawahia in their foundation match, with Jacqui McInally potting four and Tina Phillips one.
